Emergency Management Institute: Part of the FEMA Web-site. A good site to help get a C.E.R.T. group going and keeping it maintained.

 

Starting & Maintaining a C.E.R.T. Program: Another FEMA site to help get the organization up and going in your area.

 

Wyoming Office of Homeland Security: Wyoming state information as well as programs and such which Wyoming has currently operating.

 

Ready.gov: Part of the Department of Homeland Security web site. There is a part for business, family and kids.

 

Red Cross: The official site of the Red Cross Organization.

 

Red Cross Disaster Page: Part of the Red Cross site which deals strictly with disasters.

 

Earthquakes;

Worldwide Earthquake Info: Very up to date. It list most recent earthquakes around the world with strength and location maps.

 

National Earthquake Information Center: Part of the USGS web site. A lot of earthquakes information on this site.

 

ABAG Earthquake Maps & Information: A site with very informative and interesting facts. A lot of preparedness information.

 

Other Disasters;

 

Volcano World: Okay maybe it’s not an earthquake or much of a threat, but it is still informative and useful as well as a possibility.

 

Winter Weather: A site dealing with the hazards and preparation of winter storms.

 

Mud Slides & Other Earth Moving Things: A page on everything to do with the earth moving from too much water to it just being tired of “hanging” around.

 

 

Weather;

 

Star Valley Weather: A site stationed between Alpine and Etna, Wyoming. A very accurate (& real time) weather station on the web.

 

Bedford Weather NOAA: National Weather Services Forecast for Bedford, Wyoming.

 

Bedford Weather: The forecast from the weather channel for Bedford, Wyoming.

 

Intellicast: Intellicast web site of U.S. weather.

 

USA Today Weather: The USA Website weather page.

 

Wyoming SNOTEL Map: Links to all of Wyoming’s SNOTEL Stations (Including Willow Creek).

 

Miscellaneous Sites;

 

Water Purification: A very long “report” on water purification. Covers a lot of information.

 

Aerial Photography: A site with just about every bit of the U.S. on satellite photos. You can zoom in and out. Most pictures are taken back in 1994 (give or take) but still worth checking out.

 

Lincoln County, Wyoming Zoning Map: A map off the county web site which shows zoning, roads, flood plains and much more of all Lincoln County. Note; I have had trouble with his site at times not working, just so you know.

 

U.S. Geological Survey: A lot of geological information and links to several interesting and useful things.

 

Survival Kits: A site with several lists for survival kits and other items.

 

More Survival Kits: A much smaller but still notable site. Be Prepared Not Scared.

 

Lightning: A page dealing with just lightning and its hazards.

 

Online, Catalog & Other Places To Find Kit Items & Preparedness Items;

 

Safety Services Incorporated: A very affordable site to get your C.E.R.T. Kit started, about complete or anything in between.

 

Sportsman’s Guide: A very good source for survival, camping, 72 hour, C.E.R.T. Kits and so on. I Highly Recommend This Place.

 

Brigade Quartermasters: More of a military surplus type but it has a lot of things one could use as far as assembling a kit, be it a C.E.R.T. Kit or a 72 hour.  Another very good place with high quality and durable items.

 

Cheaper Than Dirt: A good source for many different items. A good all around place with a lot to offer.

 

Army Surplus Warehouse: This army surplus store is located just down the road in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

 

Cabela’s: A sportsman’s outdoor company. Everything from camp gear to hunting, fishing, R.V.’s and so on.

 

Sportsman’s Warehouse: Has about everything for the sportsman of any outdoor sport. You can also connect to the Idaho Falls store through this site.

 

Wal-Mart: Okay I know but I had to throw it in.

 

Walton’s Feed: This store is located in Montpelier, Idaho. An excellent source for food storage and disaster preparedness.

 

Emergency Essentials: A good resource for food & emergency gear. This place has two stores, they located in Orem, Utah & Salt Lake, Utah.

 

Shomer-Tec: Has a lot of different items but listed here for it’s chemical lightsticks. A very good buy and (speaking from experience) a very excellent quality.
